After completing my student teaching at Bush Middle School in special education, I got a part-time position at Yelm Middle School and then switched to a full-time position at Yelm High School (both in special education). When a position opened up at Bush Middle School, I was delighted to return to the Tumwater School District. After teaching for five years at BMS, I became a 5th grade teacher at Peter G. In 2024, I made the jump from 5th to 10th grade here at THS. (It was so fun getting to loop back with some former 5th graders!) Having taught in each grade band and in both special education and general education here in Tumwater Schools, I have enjoyed getting to watch the progression of learning and appreciate the Tumwater "flight" from eagles to falcons to T-Birds!
