Important Update: Community Service Tracking in SchooLinks

Dear students and families,

We're excited to share important updates about your community service graduation requirement and how you'll track your hours moving forward. Now that SchooLinks is the software used to manage students' High School and Beyond Plans (HSBP) from 7th–12th grade, we're taking the next step to house other important graduation requirements and keep everything organized in one place as you plan for your future.

Key Changes to Community Service

Starting this year (2026-27), all community service hours will be logged in SchooLinks, aligning with our High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) platform.
All previously submitted hours were migrated into SchooLinks over the summer, and students will be able to view their records on the first day of school (September 2, 2026).
Students can also now begin recording community service hours as early as 7th grade, which means incoming freshmen may already have hours logged when they arrive.
Required hours have changed from 30 hours to 20, giving students more flexibility while still encouraging meaningful engagement with their community.
In the past students were restricted to community service with strictly non-profit organizations, but that limitation has now been removed.

Getting Started Early

Students can now begin recording community service hours as early as 7th grade. If you have younger siblings or know middle schoolers who are already volunteering, those hours can count toward graduation. This early start helps students build a habit of giving back while staying organized from the beginning of their secondary education journey. For current high school students, this streamlined system makes it easier than ever to track your progress and celebrate the positive impact you're making in our community.

You'll have one central location to log hours, view your progress toward the 20-hour requirement, and keep your records organized as you prepare for graduation and beyond. Community service isn't just a requirement—it's an opportunity to discover your passions, develop leadership skills, and make a real difference in the lives of others.
